Allegations of mother and daughter suicide due to financial hardship in Dinajpur

It is alleged that a mother and daughter died by suicide due to financial hardship in Birganj, Dinajpur. Police recovered the bodies of the mother and daughter around 9 pm on Thursday (March 27) and sent them to the morgue for autopsy. Birganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Gafur confirmed the matter. He stated that the incident occurred due to family financial hardship. The deceased are Babita (24), wife of Ratan Chandra from Durlavpur village in the 11 No. Moricha Union of Birganj Upazila, and her 6-year-old daughter Twani Rani.

According to police and eyewitness sources, the mother and daughter of the 11 No. Moricha Union of the upazila died by suicide by consuming gas tablets on Thursday evening. Later, when the matter was informed to the police, they reached the spot, prepared an inquest report of the bodies, and sent them to the Dinajpur Medical College morgue for autopsy.
