Nahid Islam protests avoiding mention of Jamaat obstructing freedom fighter's burial

Local leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir are accused of obstructing the burial of Manik Pashari, the plaintiff in the case against convicted war criminal and Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi. A fact-check report by The Descent revealed the involvement of individuals associated with Jamaat-Shibir in processions, speeches, and online propaganda opposing the burial.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam posted on Facebook condemning the incident. However, his post did not mention that Manik Pashari was a freedom fighter, that his burial was obstructed, or any allegations against Jamaat activists regarding that obstruction. Instead, he took a stance in favor of human rights by raising the issue of the right to funeral prayers and burial, as well as past political persecution.
