Today is the 117th hanging day of Khudiram Bose. Born in Medinipur in 1889, Khudiram sacrificed his life for the freedom struggle against British rulers at the mere age of 18. Following the attempt to kill British judge Kingsford in Muzaffarpur and his arrest, he cheerfully swung from the gallows on August 11, 1908. His supreme sacrifice still teaches us to be brave against injustice and to remain steadfast on the path of freedom and justice.
