Women's football match cancelled due to Islami Andolan's obstruction, Section 144 imposed

Islami Andolan Taragonj Upazila President Ashraf Ali announced the suspension of the match around 1 pm. The organizers alleged that he was bent on "conspiring to stop the match" and declared, "Women's football matches will not be tolerated under any circumstances." This caused extreme tension to spread in the area. On the other hand, explaining his position, Ashraf Ali said, "Within 300 yards of where the match is organized, there is a traditional madrassa and a mosque. Besides, this is not an international level match. This match has been organized to ruin the environment of the area. Therefore, we have protested and organized a procession. The match will not be allowed to take place."
