Madrasa student killed under DNCC garbage truck in Dhaka North

A madrasa student named Habibur Rahman (16) was killed after being crushed under a Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) garbage truck in Mirpur, capital. The accident took place around 6:30 PM on Saturday at the Rupnagar Shialbari intersection. Deceased Habibur Rahman studied at a madrasa in the Rupnagar area. Police have detained the killer garbage truck along with the driver in this incident. The name of the detained driver is Md. Sohel. He is a temporary employee of the waste branch of DNCC Zone-2.

An inspector of the waste branch of DNCC Zone-2, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, 'Sohel does not have any driving license. He works as a cleaner on a temporary basis. It was not right to hand over such a big garbage truck to him.' Mirpur Model Police Station OC Sajjad Roman said, 'The driver along with the vehicle has been detained.
