Construction worker killed under machine in capital

A construction worker named Shoheb Mahmud (25) was killed after being crushed under a machine while piling a building under construction in the capital's Bhatara Thana area. The accident took place around 5 pm on Sunday (May 25). After rescuing him in a critically injured condition, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the attending physician declared him dead around 11 pm. The deceased's cousin Md. Elias said, My brother is a construction worker. He was seriously injured under the pressure of the machine while doing piling work.

He was rescued and first taken to a local hospital. When his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. Md. Faruk, in-charge (inspector) of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) hospital. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
