Syed Manzurul Islam: A writer, professor, critic and aesthetic thinker all in one

Syed Manzurul Islam was a writer, professor, critic and aesthetic thinker all in one. His pen brought out the inner light and darkness, love and deep sense of prayer in human beings. Born in Sylhet on 18 January 1951, this renowned literary figure educated and inspired generations for a long time as an academic. He also played a critical and conscious role regarding the education system of Bangladesh.

'Prem O Prarthnar Golpo', 'Adhkana Manush', 'Tin Porber Jibon' — his writings are a unique addition to modern Bengali fiction. Honored with many awards including the Bangla Academy Literary Award (1996) and the Ekushey Padak (2018), this gifted person has departed today, yet his created world, thoughts and words will remain eternal to us.
